Exciting to introduce you to our initiative, a Bitcoin-based non-governmental organization aimed at empowering mothers with financial knowledge and fostering a local Bitcoin circular economy. Each week, we provide 13 mothers in our program with $5 worth of satoshis (the smallest unit of Bitcoin) directly to their digital wallets. This support helps them save or purchase essential items for their newborns. Overall, we distribute $260 monthly, approximately KSH 33,000, which can be spent in Bitcoin.
As part of our expansion, we are including local businesses to help you accept Bitcoin payments. This will allow mothers to conveniently spend their satoshis at local shops without needing to convert them on an exchange. We encourage businesses to spend the received satoshis within the local Bitcoin economy, creating a sustainable financial ecosystem.
Implementing Bitcoin payments is straightforward, and we will guide you through every step of the process. Our team will offer the necessary support and resources to ensure a seamless transition for you and your customers. Everyother month we will organize physical meetups for merchants to network with local and international entrepreneurs and business people, enhancing your business connections.
We utilize two custodial lightning wallets: Blink and Machankura. Machankura facilitates transactions using USSD, similar to Mpesa, without requiring an internet connection, while Blink is available as an app on the Play Store and Apple Store. The lightning network ensures fast transactions with minimal to zero fees, offering a cost-effective alternative to traditional mobile banking.
