Our Mission

We are Bitcoin Babies

Welcome to the Bitcoin Babies Program! The journey to motherhood is filled with both challenges and joys. Our program is dedicated to aiding mothers during this critical period by providing financial assistance, valuable resources, and educational opportunities.

We aim to uplift and guide families through the early stages of parenthood by empowering mothers, nurturing newborns, and fostering a supportive community.

Circular Local Economies

The core philosophy of the Bitcoin Babies program is to empower mothers to build their own financial independence and self-reliance. By pairing financial education with Bitcoin circular economy principles, we support mothers as they start small local businesses and accept Lightning payments.

We actively onboard local merchants—like grocery stores, service providers, and neighbors—to accept Lightning payments. Across our 5 cohorts (with 3 cohorts currently active and live) in Kenya, Pakistan, and Burundi, we support a total of 53 mothers. The weekly distribution of $5 worth of sats to each active mother injects over $250 worth of Bitcoin weekly directly into these local economies, fostering sustainable local commerce.

We also provide small business micro-grants of up to $100 for program mothers who submit a viable business plan during their fourth quarter, giving them the start-up capital needed to achieve true economic sovereignty.

Empowering Mothers

By providing regular satoshi distributions, mothers can buy essential nutrition, afford clinic check-ups, and practice real-world Bitcoin transactions with local merchants in their immediate communities.

Breaking Cycles of Poverty

Financial literacy combined with censorship-resistant money grants families long-term protection against local currency inflation and unpredictable banking access.
